Modern global challenges demand fresh perspectives. First Nations Research Methodologies and Perspectives on Research re-centres First Nations knowledge, from this continent and internationally, as valuable and contemporary approaches to generating and applying knowledge. The course adopts a strengths-based approach, examining the diversity, continuity and contemporary relevance of First Nations knowledge systems and research methodologies. Designed to support students undertaking Honours research, the course critically explores First Nations perspectives and methodologies and their application to the development, planning and conduct of independent research projects. Through this process, students will develop stronger critical thinking skills, learn new research methods, broaden their overall knowledge base, and be better prepared for undertaking independent research and contributing to a modern, diverse world.
